Total Tailings Management in Action: Feasibility Design for Pumping, Pipeline & Ring Main Upgrades
EcoE is currently executing the feasibility design phase as the appointed EPCM partner and Engineer of Record (EoR) for a leading gold mining client within their ๐๐จ๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ.
Our focus is to support the clientโs TSF operations by enabling ๐ฆ๐๐ฑ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ, using a holistic, end-to-end engineering approach across the full tailings value chain, from plant discharge and slurry tanks, through pumping and pipelines, to deposition control at the TSF and return-to-plant interfaces.
In this feasibility phase (which is followed by our previous scoping phase), we are defining and de-risking the upgrade scope to support budget allocation, strengthen operational control and flexibility, the scope includes:
- Ring main enablement (aligned to the TSF raising and deposition strategy)
- Slurry pipeline and pump station upgrade options (tie-ins, valve strategy, pressure ratings, and constructability)
- Pump station alterations to improve backfill and TSF split control, redundancy, and operational flexibility
- Data-driven verification to inform the design basis (including electrical logging and accurate tie-in planning)
- A feasibility-level CAPEX/OPEX basis to support an informed investment decision and implementation phasing
Proud to partner with the client team to convert operational requirements into a practical, implementable engineering scope, built for real site conditions and long-term performance.
